Our Thanksgiving Menu

Michael, my step-dad, setting the table

Mariel here. No one does Thanksgiving quite like my mother. She has dutifully (and painstakingly) transcribed our family’s favorite recipes, even including a suspicious new addition (Brussel Sprouts?!) that she assures me is worthy of a spot on our overcrowded Turkey Day table. Whether you’re looking for a few new ideas or a full-fledged menu, these holiday dishes are bound to impress. I swear.

And if this is the first time you’re prepping your own bird (or you need a refresher), my mom has provided her insanely helpful tips for avoiding the same fate she suffered when she first roasted (and thawed) a 28-lb turkey.

Roasted Turkey
Candied Sweet Potatoes
Mom’s Cornbread Stuffing
Homemade Cranberry Chutney
Waldorf  Salad with Fresh Brussels Sprouts
Pumpkin Bread

Mom’s Apple Pie
Pecan and Coconut Tart
