I’ve always been a fan of the Little Brown Bag (and the Medium and Big Brown Bags), so when Bloomingdale’s contacted me about coordinating in-store cooking demonstrations and tastings in their White Plains, NY and Manhattan outposts, I shot straight over the moon.
Next Saturday May 9th will be the first of my appearances – I’ll be whipping up several of my favorite dishes for at-home entertaining on a budget and I’ll also be doling out tips on how to swap out expensive ingredients and generally lower cooking costs. If you’re in the area, I hope you’ll swing by (more info below). It’s Mother’s Day weekend, so you should probably be making a trip to Bloomies anyway…my children, take note.

Congratulations!!! Sounds like it should be fun!
I’m very excited…there’s a lot of prep but it should be well worth it!
May 9th is my last day of classes (finally). Sorry to miss this. Good luck!
3 of we ladies are celebratingour 60th B-days arriving in NYC July 18 and leaving on July 24th – we are fun loving and want to make this birthday trip a real hoot! A cooking class would certainly be on top of our list. – We are staying at 54th street – what can you suggest that you would be offering in your demo kitchen – thanking you in advance

Hi Pat- That sounds like a blast! Our cooking demo is actually now happening in Bloomingdale’s on 59th Street on June 18th from 1-3PM, so I’ll miss you by exactly a month, what a shame! As for cooking classes in NYC, check out this link http://gonyc.about.com/od/cookingclasses/New_York_Cooking_Classes_and_Wine_Seminars.htm. It’s a comprehensive list of NYC cooking classes. In addition to Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s in Herald Square’s De Gustibus series offers terrific options http://www.degustibusnyc.com. Let me know if i can be of further help and have a great time in NYC!
