Memorial Day Recipe Ideas

I took a look at last year’s holiday menu and realized that we’ve added a boatload of family-friendly Memorial Day recipe ideas for this weekend’s start-of-summer feast. While we tend to stick to tradition when it comes to our own Memorial Day “picnic” – Deviled Eggs, Barbeque Spare Ribs, Southern Fried Chicken and Macaroni Salad – we’ve included a whole host of options that can take your backyard party to a whole new level. Added bonus? We’ve taken care to outline a list of mouth-watering options that can be made ahead of time. In fact, with the exception of the Deviled Eggs, Guacamole, Cornbread, Fried Chicken and Watermelon Bites, most of these are even better on the second day!

We’ll be signing off for a few days and heading out to the family home for a little fun in the sun – as long as Mother Nature cooperates – so here’s to a very merry Memorial Day. Enjoy it because before you know it, it’ll be Labor Day! Just kidding, sort of.

Starters and Snacks:
Deviled Eggs
Root Beer Baked Black Beans
Jalapeno Corn Fritters with Sweet Pepper Pineapple Relish
Mango Salsa
Garden Guacamole
Cheddar Black Bean Corn Bread
