Sure, my mom’s turkey is to-die-for – check out her tips on what to do and what NOT to do – but let’s be honest, it’s all about the side dishes On what other day is it socially-acceptable to attend a formal dinner wearing elastic-waisted cargo pants – or cargo pants of any sort – and fill up your pockets with goodies galore. I love this day. My mom’s cooking is never more delicious and we do nothing but eat for five straight hours. Added bonus: Even though my parents divorced years ago, we usually celebrate the holiday en masse so the eating becomes semi-competitive but we get to enjoy it as one big happy family.
